You face a room of very hungry people. A large pizza arrives and you are handed a knife and asked to cut the pizza into as many pieces as possible using just three straight cuts. Because the pizza is very hot you cannot move any of the pieces (e.g. stacking them on top of one another and then cutting). What is the maximum number of pieces that you can create using just three straight cuts? (from Richard Wiseman's blog)
There are two acceptable answers here, depending on how creative you are.
Explain yourself Hashir!
I got 7.
its possible to make 7
i cant upload pictures =/
7 is one of the correct answers.
You make the three cuts such that there is a triangle in the middle. Thats how im getting 7.
6 is wrong. That is indeed how you would get 7. How would you get more than 7?
Well, could u move it with your knife?
8 piece. First two cuts make 4, and if cut thru from the side, should make 8.
That is the other correct answer! There will be some disappointed people without any sause, or toppings; but they don't matter when puzzles are involved.
I guess it was thick crust huh?
