OpenStudy (anonymous):

can anyone explain all the stages of meiosis? ASAP. i need it now thanks!! =)

OpenStudy (aroub):

watch a video will help u moree... http://www.johnkyrk.com/meiosis.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can i have the summary? 1 or 2 sentence for each stage?

OpenStudy (aroub):

yea i will actually prefer urs moree..!! :)

OpenStudy (aroub):

yes i actually have! but idk if u will understand

OpenStudy (aroub):

ill give it a try for the first step

OpenStudy (anonymous):

listen in my ques. i need a diference in lyfe cycle by meotic and mitotic phase (for exmple wat is done in prophase of mitotic division and meotic division u will find ur ans go n luk ai it

OpenStudy (aroub):

prophase 1 : *homologous chromosomes pair, forming a bivalent . (note. the bivalent has two chromosomes and four chromatids.) metaphase 1. *nuclear membrane disappears. * bivalents align at the metaphase plate *spindle fibers attach to the chromosomes at the centromeres.

OpenStudy (aroub):

^ did u understand theses 2 steps ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeap!! do u have more?

OpenStudy (aroub):

yea i have!

OpenStudy (aroub):

anaphase 1: * homologous chromosomes (made of 2 chromatids) are pulled by the spindle fibers to opposite sides of the cell

OpenStudy (aroub):

telophase 1. *nuclear membrane reforms * the cell splits into two cells

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aroub do u have the summary for meiosis II ?

OpenStudy (aroub):

yes! ill give it to u all!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in anaphase as araoub said kinetochore spindle fibre attract the choromosomes towards it so the arms comes in the v shape

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yay! thanks so much!! :D

OpenStudy (aroub):

prophase 2 : * nuclear membrane fades *spindle fibers reform between centrioles * the chromosomes condense thus become visible.

OpenStudy (aroub):

metaphase 2: *the chromosomes line at at the metaphase plate * nuclear membrane disappears *spindle fibers attach to the chromosome at the centromere

OpenStudy (aroub):

anaphase 2: *sister chromatids separate and are moved to opposite sides of the cell

OpenStudy (aroub):

telophase 2 : * spindle fibers disintegrate *cell starts to split into two *a nuclear membrane forms around each set of chromatids *the chromatids become the chromosomes of the daughters cell * four new cells are formed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

perfect ans. better than wat i thought simple and easy

OpenStudy (aroub):

hehehe thank yoouuu!!! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aroub is lifesaver <3
