please how to convert a decimal number to a binary number ? 2.232 how much in binary ? and what is the algorithm to convert ?
2232 ------ 10000
i think so
no i don't think so
good explanation here http://cs.furman.edu/digitaldomain/more/ch6/dec_frac_to_bin.htm
to the right of the decimal point you will have 10 because that is 2 in binary.
Convert with the calculator, or you need this on paper by yourself?
what calculator? i could not find one
If you are using Windows, that calc.exe - windows calculator
the next two after the decimal will be zeros, because this number is less that 1/4
linux, but maybe the one here does it
I just subtract powers of 2 myself..
nope
Oh, it's not a whole number?
i guess that would work. no 1/2 no 1/4 subtract 1/8 get .107 so far we have 10.001
2.232 = 10.0011101101100100010110100001110010101100000010000011001
subtract 1/16 get .0445 so we have \[10.0011\] this is a pain, i am not doing it. what a problem!
lol
That's why we have computers do it for us.
Though I'm sure there's a more efficient method for fractional numbers.
are you kidding me? how many calculations to do this by hand!
yikes. use a calculator for sure
@polpak there is but it still requires many calculations. i sent a link above
