What is larger: The height of a standard can of tennis balls, or the circumference of its lid? (Assume the can fits three tennis balls perfectly). Explain your reasoning.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Circumference of the lid, I believe. Consider the radius as r. Then circumference is 2*pi*r and the height is 6r. 2*pi*r-6r is greater than zero and hence circumference is larger.

Correct!

Yay!! :)
