a radio transmission tower is 220 ft long how long should a wire be if it is to be attached 6 feet from the top and is to make an angle of 30 with the ground? I did 226/sin(30) and got 452 but mathlab says the answer is 428. am i wrong is mathlab wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it means you have to attach the wire on the tower itself at 6 feet from its top, i.e. at a height of 214ft.so, 214/sin30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it should 220 (height of the tower) + the 6 feet above it that is going to be attached

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no (226-6) as it is from the top of the tower, plus it should be attached to the tower. It cannot be attached at a height greater than that of the tower.

I don't get it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why does it say 6 feet above the top

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not above.but from the top.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I get it i misread it doesn't say above the top it say from the top
