Graph the inequality on a plan. x+y<6 so far i got y<6-x Graph 6-x and shade all points below (less than) it. how do i graph 6-x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Plug in 0 for x, what do you get? 6. Put a dot at (0, 6). Plug in 1 for x, what do you get? 5. Put a dot at (1,5). Do this for a couple points, take a ruler, and connect them all with a line. Do you need me to elaborate on how to hold the pencil?

HAHAHA no

OpenStudy (mathsolver):

treat the inequality as if it were an equation so x+y=6, plug in a value for x e.g. 0 and you get 6, if you put in 0 for y then x=0, connect them up and now you have to find outwhat side of the line to shade, since x+y<6 it must be below the line
