If humans had an enzyme to digest cellulose what would it turn into? (Glucose?)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, glucose. Cellulose consists of chains of glucose. The enzyme that does this in other organisms is called cellulase.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, glucose because if human had nt the enzme cellulase the last product of digestion is always cellulose but if it had it can brk down it into more simpler form which is glucose as cellulose is made up of monosaccharide unit glucose

OpenStudy (radha):

yes.it will be broken down into glucose. since cellulose is polysaccharide made up of beta D glucose(about 6000 in number)
