find the x and y intercepts in the equations: y=x-5 3x+2y=9 5y-4x=20

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

3 eqs? :O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol well its on a big packed of questions...i have to do..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

packet*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

forgot most of this stuff over the summer, now i need some help remembering..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first equation.. if x = 0 then y = -5 and if y = 0 then x = 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

second equation.. if x = 0 then y = 2/9 and if y = 0 then x = 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just graphed all 3 lines at once and stared confusedly at my calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh, i c what u want

OpenStudy (anonymous):

third equation... if x = 0 then y = 4 and if y = 0 then x = -5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so all you have to do is plug in 0 for x and solve, that tells you the "y intercept" then just plug in 0 for y... and that gives you the "x intercept"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

gracias lol
