what is stumli?

in regards to physiology or psychology?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep physiology...........................i got this word from nerve system

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah yes, a stimulus, or stimuli, is a detectable change in the external or internal environment. The ability of an organ to respond to stimuli is called sensitivity. In the nervous system, neurons respond to stimuli, conduct impulses, then communicate with each other (nerve stimulus). Some examples of stimuli include any particular touch, sound, light, etc.... When a stimulus is applied to a sensory receptor, there is a reflex of sorts (stimulus transduction.) I hope this helped!!! Just ask if you need to know more :)
