anybody know an easy way to memorize the laws of cosine functions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What sort of cosine functions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

U mean sohcahtoa?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

U there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you just mean the trigonometric functions, I remember SohCahToa S: Sine- is oh, or opposite over hypotenuse. C: Cosine- is ah, or adjacent over hypotenuse. T: Tangent- is oa, or opposite over adjacent.

I think he means the law of cosines. \[c ^{2}=a ^{2}+b ^{2}-2ab \cos C\] etc. I say write it out many times. Often that can aid in memorization. Also, flash cards.

Oooh yes. You're right that's probably what he means. Remember the pythagorean theorem to start with. I don't know a good trick for remembering the last part though.

sorry, yes i meant the law, not socatoa

thanks simplephyiscs
