Can some one check my answer,Please!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{2\ln7}{\ln7-\ln5}=?\]my caculator is: 11.568 but mathway answer is :3.89182 which one is correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{2ln7}{ln7 - ln 5} = \frac{ln(49)}{ln(7/5)}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I agree with your calculator as it's written.

OpenStudy (phi):

Also, 2 ln 7 = 3.89182

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so does ln(49)

OpenStudy (phi):

My point is the numerator is what is given by pathway... sounds like a mistake

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can also write it as: \[\large \frac{2}{1-\frac{ln5}{ln7}}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which is probably easier to compute on your calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't get how you get the last equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have caculator fx-115Ms and TI-84

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just factored out an ln7 from the top and bottom and cancelled it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but the answer keep 11.568 I can get answer 3.89182

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mathway is wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your answer is correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, ty

OpenStudy (phi):

As a double check, you can use wolfram. For example, http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=solve+7%5E%28t-2%29%3D+5%5Et+

great, good help ty phi
