how many times does the graph of y=x^2+1 cross the x-axis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no time

Grrr

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cross x-axis means, y=0, for this equation ,y will not equal to 0

The square of a positive number is positive. The square of a negative number is also positive (because the 2 negatives cancel out). And since it is +1, Y will never be less than one, so the line with never cross the X-axis.
