it is a way of doing derivatives. do you know fractions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

아니 많이

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the chain rule is part of how a derivative is calculated

http://integrals.wolfram.com/index.jsp check this website out. might help u on future problems tooo

OpenStudy (amistre64):

when we take a derivative, we are always left with a derived by. For instance: d (2x^3) dx ---- = ---- 6x^2 dx dx the dx/dx is the derived bit that they refer to as the chain rule effect on a derivative. another example: d (4y^2) dy ---- = ---- 8y dx dx Out popped a dy/dx as a derived bit.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

The chain rule tends to be most effective when functions are nested into each other [f(g(h(x)))]' = f'(g(h(x))) * g'(h(x)) * h'(x) * x'
