Let D be a point on side BC of a triangle ABC. Let K,L be the circumferences of the sides ABC and ADC respectively. Prove that triangles ABC and AKL are similar.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry. can u clarify something for me... is there a circle involved? cause u use the word circumference..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh oops... I meant circumcentres. And by sides ABC and ADC I meant triangles ABC and ADC

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahaha... awesome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im super weak at geometric proofs! o.O im interested in the solution when someone finds it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

geometry is a very visual math so it's easier to understand it in person.let me draw it out first =X haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i think i get it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Where is D?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on side BC

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Blind, I am..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oooh, I will have to draw that....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm. won't let me upload pic?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the problem is that im not so convinced theyre similar .. ..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, okay, I'm stupid. It was pretty easy. Let's say angle ABD equals b. AKD should be 2b. Then KL bisects AKD so angle AKL equals b. Then repeat for other side.
