no not exactly, they ust predicted the predicament, while macbeth and his wife had actually made the choices that caused his fall, but the witches did help him fall a bit... hope that helps

Just pinning on one factor seems a bit niave to me.

I like the part where Lady Macbeth wants to kill everything and then grow man parts. "Unsex me now!" But regarding your question, I do agree that it shouldn't be blamed solely on the witches as Macbeth has his flaws and lady Macbeth is just scary.
