find the vertex and graph f(x)=4|x|-4 show steps or solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first off |x|=-x or +x so |x| looks like a "V" and the vertext is at (0,0) but for this problem you seeing the lowest point of the graph at x=0 y=-4 when x=1 you get y=0 and when x=-1 you get y=0 so the lowest point is at (0,-4) and shoots a straight line through (-1,0) and (1,0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when i say |x|=-x or +x it means when you pick x=-5 |x| will be 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and when x=+/-2 y=4 for both so those 5 point will solve your graph hope this helps
