well, you should start studying that, because these kind of problems need to be factored first
that way we can see if terms divide out
\[-x^2+10x-21=-(x^2-10x+21)\] \[-(x-7)(x-3)\]
-(x-7)(3x-2) for denominator
now can you see what terms would divide out?
thats the top part and the bottom part looks like this \[-3x^2+23x-14=-(3x^2-23x+14)\] \[-(3x-2)(x-7)\]

thanks lagrangeson, now monika the "-" signs cancel and now all you have to do is find the same thing on the top and bottom and cross them out
ok.. so i have -(x-7)(x-3) ---------- -(3x-2)(x-7)
so the x-7 cancels out
and the x-7 cancel and your left with (x-3)/(3x-2)

nd for the bottom you need to factor it again
so, the bottom part is (-7x-2)
no the top ppart is that and the bottom part looks like this -28x^2+50x-12

so i have to find 2 #'s that multiply by 50 right...
-28x^2+50x-12=-(28x^2-50x+12) -(4x - 6 )(7x - 2 )

the factoring part is like a puzzle it doesnt come easy to many
i was trying to understand how you got those numbers... i know the 7x-2 were going to be the same answer but the bottom part was going to be a negative.. but i just didn't understand how to get the rest..
like x^2+2x+1 is factorable (x+1)(x+1) because i look at the first part and the last and make those numbers work that are in the middle
oh, ok.. when i see a fraction with some many numbers, I just get so confused...
