What is positive definiteness of a matrix ? How do we test if a matrix is positive definite ?

a matrix is positive definite if:
\[x^TAx >0, \forall x, x\neq 0\]
There are a few tests, like all all the eigenvalues being positive, or all the pivots being positive when you row reduce the matrix into an upper triagular one.
