How are momentum and impulse used in different sports?
sumo is wer momentum is used cricket is wer impulse is used
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by used, but Impulse is defined as a force acting on a object over a time interval. So, any sport that has contact forces acting on an object like a tennis racket hitting a ball, or a baseball bat hitting a baseball the objects are imparting an impulse to the ball. Momentum is defined as mass times velocity. So any moving object has momentum. Sports with moving objects like baseballs, football players, indy cars, will all have momentum.
momentum and impulse both are the same. we only denote momentum as impulse when the time considered is relatively of a small magnitude.
momentum and impulse are not the same.. impulse is the change in momentum
got it :)
@simplephysics : actually what i meant was that the way momentum and impulse are used in sports, they aren't much different.
