What's an ECG all about ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) is a diagnostic tool that measures and records the electrical activity of the heart in exquisite detail. Interpretation of these details allows diagnosis of a wide range of heart conditions. These conditions can vary from minor to life threatening.

Ma'm i'd prefer english sooo much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is a device which is used to measure the heart beats of human and it is profitable for heart patients.....it is called ECG as it examines the electrical activity ....A recording of the electrical activity of the heart.Electrodes are placed on the skin of the chest and connected in a specific order to a machine that, when turned on, measures electrical activity all overaround the heart. Output is usually in the form of a long scroll of paper displaying a printed graph of activity.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you. i had an ECG done yesterday. was exactly like you said it was. tickly though :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do u understood otherwise ask yukta di she know more than me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sir ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u said mam

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Engine Clutch Gear

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nice one ishaan

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is a graphical representation of the electrical activity of the heart!a patient is connected to the machine with 3 electical leads, one connected to each wrist and one to the ankle!but if u want a detailed evaluation of the heart thn they r evn connected to the chest rgion!well,do u want to knw abt the graph tooo?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and additional info-the machine ,shows some voltage on screen, and if it makes a sound pip..pip..peeeeeeeeeeeee,the person is under cardiac arrest!and it represnts the electrical activity of the heart during each cardiac cycle(the sequential event the joint diastole, atrial cystole tccwhich gets repeatd in a cycle)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

basically it analyzes heart rhythm and is important for understanding heart morphology. abnormalities detected in an electrocardiogram (ECG) include detecting myocardial infarction (heart attack).
