The basic impact was the dissolution of the Tsarist autocracy in Russia which lead to Bolshevism, a form of Communism, which then laid the framework for The Soviet Union.

The first revolution, in February, led to the falling of the Tsar's dictatorship and the employment of the Provisional Government in March the same year to introduce democracy into Russia. However, this wasn't enough and another revolution occurred in October, leading to the dissolution of the Provisional Government and the Communist Party finally seizing control. Basically, it went from dictatorship to democracy to dictatorship.
