How would I graph this: y = | x - 1 |

Draw the straght line for y=x-1. but wherever the line cuts the x axis at (1,0) and goes in the negative y direction when x is less than one, draw that portion of the line reflected in the x axis and in the second quadrant. This way you get a V shaped graph that touches the x axis at just one point (1,0)

If you know what y=|x| looks like normally, all the -1 in the inside does is shift it to the RIGHT one place.
