how would you go about simplifying: (3x^2+2x^3)-(3X^2+7x-1) thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first remove parentheses distributing the minus sign. you get \[3x^2+2x^3-3x^2-7x+1\] (don't forget to change the sign of everything in the second term) then combine like terms to get \[2x^3-7x+1\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you mean by changing the sign of everything the second time?
