Describe the types of plate boundaries of the earthquakes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, plate boundaries are found at the edge of the lithospheric plates. There are three types: divergent, convergent, and conservative and these are determined by the interaction between two plates. Divergent boundaries are where two plates move away from each other. As the two plates move apart, magma from the mantle is release through the vent, creating a ridge. In turn, crust grows on either side of the vent. Divergent boundaries are responsible for driving the motion of plates. A convergent boundary, or subduction zone, are where two plates override one another. One plate is pushed into the mantle of the other. This is the location of very strong earthquakes as well as volcanoes. As one plate goes closer to the extreme heat in the mantle, it begins to melt and form magma. It often overpasses the crust and forms a volcano. The third type of boundary is conservative, which is named this because crust is neither destroyed or created. With this boundary, plates actually slide past each other. I hope I answered your question! Please ask if you have anymore questions :)
