in photosynthesis the plant not only absorbs carbon dioxide but also the energy of the sun so when the plant absorbs the carbon dioxide its cells absorbs the gas... sorry i got no more info... i learnt the whole photosynthesis topic in 6th grade and thats like 4 years ago sorry

Specialized structures located and the bottom of the leaf (Stomates) act as a controlled passage way for CO2 and O2. Once the gas are exhanged, specilized enzymes such as RuBisCo capture the CO2 molécules so they are afixed to a larger molecule containing more carbon . May I suggest researching the Calvin-Benson cycle?
