OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

the 30inch is diagonal. it is 18 inches high, and 24 inches wide.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

need a little more.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

really? how do you know ratio?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

LOL, i did a pythagoras problem yesterday with same dimentions! ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

diagonal of the screen...such as 30in is 24 in width...what's the height?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it could be the other way round although that would look strange

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do u come up with the solution?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but the ratio wasn't given. part of the problem is missing

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Pythagoras therom!

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Sure there is something missing!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for instanc it could be sqroot 2 +sqroot 898

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok...what does it mean to refer to a 20in TV set or a 25in TV set? Such units refer to the diagonal of the screen. A 30in TV set has the width of 24 inches. What is the height?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

30^2-24^=324 sqroot324=18
