It takes 2 minutes to raise the temperature of 1.7 kg of water by 40 degrees C using a 2.5 kW heater. Assuming there is no heat loss, how long would it take to heat 170 kg of water by the same amount using a 5.0 kW heater?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

double the power and 100 times the amount of water... as the equation q=mc(delta)T is entirely linear it should take 50 times longer so 100 minutes or 1 hour and 40 minutes.
