Prove the trigonometric identity: sec^2xcotx-cotx=tanx

OpenStudy (lalaly):

sec^2x cotx - cotx = tanx Factor out cotx..... cotx * (sec^2x - 1) = tanx Use trig identity for (sec^2x - 1): cotx * (tan^2x) = tanx Convert cotx to tanx: 1/tanx * tan^2x = tanx Simplify: tanx = tanx
