the regular coordinates of a point are given find the polar coordinates of each point, (4,0)

myininaya (myininaya):

(x,y)=(rcos(theta), rsin(theta)) rcos(theta)=x=4 rsin(theta)=y=0 (4,0) is in the first quadrant so rsin(theta)=0 => sin(theta)=0 => theta=0 so if rcos(theta)=4 and theta=0, then rcos(0)=r(1)=r=4

myininaya (myininaya):

polar coordinate in this case is the same as the rectangular cooridate (r,theta)=(4,0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah for some reason i got hte answer was (4,0) but i thought that it was wrong

myininaya (myininaya):

because it was the same? lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah haha
