Look up Khan Academy on Google. This will be your best friend throughout middle school and high school mathematics.

I can,t seem to do it . I need to go back to the basic fundamentals. My daughter is in the fifth grade this year and I would like to help her with learning the basics of the math .I have been out of school for 25 years I can,t seem to remember any of it.

you can try taking some online courses.
There are many sites which offer you various subjects from scratch..
Still if you can wait for 5 minutes i will try bringing some suggestions from more experienced people out here.

Algebra can mean more than one thing. If you are only trying to learn content that will be taught in grade school or high school you won't want to start learning linear algebra or abstract algebra.

i think the best thing to do to help your daughter would be to find out what book the school is going to be using, and get a copy of it. that way you can see exactly what she will be doign throughout the year.

What i suggest is you have a look at your daughter's course and accordingly try to find something
you can also start studying from your daughter's books itself and you can ask us the queries you get here.
