google, i beleive, searches its own database.  If you are not a part of its database, then you wont be found ....

Its something about keywords and such in an html tag that spiders look for in order to find you ...

to check if you're website is already indexed by google try this search: 

site:yoursite.com

if you don't see any results, that means you're site isn't indexed yet. The resources above can help your site get 'spidered' and eventually indexed.
