dont know if this is a good idea... I couldn install ubuntu last version on my old computer. Im gonna install an old version of ubuntu that I know works for this computer (I installed it once before) and then upgrade it to a newer version. Does any1 knows if last ubuntu requirements are high, what are they anyway?
i think you can get answers to all your questions here https://help.ubuntu.com/10.10/installation-guide/i386/index.html
Ubuntu has a tiny working blueprint (only a few hundred MB of RAM) so it should work well on most anything, assuming that you're comp isn't 6+ years old...
If you are thinking of using Ubuntu 11.04 its a bad idea people are complaining about it. I didn't like stay with Ubuntu 10.4 or 10.10 they are better than 11.04
use the ubuntu website ..and the updation of the ubuntu is very easy
