In a lottery 1000 tickets are sold at $0.36 each. There are 3 cash prizes: $120, $60, and $30. Alice buys 6 tickets. What would have been a fair price for a ticket? How much extra did Alice pay?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1000 tickets produce 360$ income. The Prizes cost 210, so the company's gain is 150$ if the tickets cost $0.21 each there would be the same gain and the same cost. Given that, Alice for three tickets paid $0.45 extra

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.36-0.21=0.15 times three tickets 0.45

how did you get the first part then? the fair price?
