I'd multiply the entire top equation by a -2 and then add the equations together to eliminate y. Then I'd solve for x. Then I'd put what x is equal to in one of the equations and solve for y.

Answer to Lauren 123: Notice that the two equations (Lines) are just multiples of each other. Consequently, All points that satisfies one equation, satisfies the other, hence they are the same line written in two different ways. They also both have the same slope and y intercept! i.e. the same line!
