Which set of three segments can form a triangle? 7, 12, 5 6, 4, 11 13, 6, 6 8, 2, 8

OpenStudy (amistre64):

as long as the shorter parts can add up to greater than the longest part; you can make a triangle

OpenStudy (amistre64):

13,6,6 is not a triangle; you end up spanning 12 over 13 and it never reaches

OpenStudy (amistre64):

6,4,11; you end up spanning 10 over 11 and it never reaches

as long as the shorter parts can add up to greater than the longest part; you can make a triangle

OpenStudy (amistre64):

7,12,5; you end up spanning 12 over 12 and you end up with a straight line; not a triangle

OpenStudy (amistre64):

8,2,8; ends up spanning 10 over 8 ... there is plenty of extra to make a triangle with :)
