factor 2t^2 + 5t-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(2t-1)(t+3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since the 2t is out front I know it will be one of the square terms in the factor... then I see the middle term is +5 so I need two numbers that will multiply together to make (-3) and add together to make the +5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

knowing that 2*3x = 6 and -1*x = 5x (something like that) you'll get it after a while...

some are more difficult than others of course.. late
