r+10/r2-100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/ (r-10)

OpenStudy (gracie):

how did u get the answer

OpenStudy (gracie):

i do not get fractions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the denominator is a difference of squares...so it factors to (r+10)(r-10) so it can be written as (r+10) / (r+10)(r-10) the (r+10)'s cancel...so your left with 1 in the numerator and (r-10) in the denominator..thus 1/(r-10)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

these aren't fractions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{r+10}{x^2-10}=\frac{x+10}{(x+10)(x-10)}=\frac{1}{x-10}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry r not x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{r+10}{r^2-100}=\frac{r+10}{(r+10)(r-10)}=\frac{1}{r-10}\]

OpenStudy (gracie):

u ra big help

OpenStudy (anonymous):
