Choose the slope-intercept equation of the line that passes through the point (6, -6) and is perpendicular to y = 3x - 6.

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

a line perpendicular to y=3x+6 is y=-x/3+k also it passes thru 6,-6 so just subsitute to gett he value of k and hence the line

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

see when a line of slope m1 is perpendicular to line of slope m2 then m1m2=-1 you know dis? so we get the slope of line 2 as -1/3 you ok till here?
