Coordinates with respect to a basis? Suppose that a rectangular x'y' coordinate system is obtained by rotating a rectangular xy-coordinate system about the origin through the angle theta =3pi/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the rotation equation that express those x'y' coordinates in terms of xy coordinates and use those equations to find the x'y' coordinates of the point whose xy coordinates are (-2,6)

Last chapter of linear algebra and it's quite confusing..

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x = x'cos(t) + y'sin(t) .... i cant recall if its + or - in there at the moment
