what is the difference between a phagocyte and a lymphocyte

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Phagocytes are white blood cells (phagocytes) that 'eat' infectious germs. The phagocytes stimulate lymphocytes to respond to pathogens.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Phagocytes engulf and digest cell debris whereas Lymphocytes are responsible for immune responses. There are two main types of lymphocytes: B cells and T cells. Moreover having absorbed a pathogen, the phagocytes may also send out chemical messages that help nearby lymphocytes to identify the type of antibody (as aforementiond by harmonikirk).
