Should User Experience Professionals take over Business Analyst's role...?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
That depends on the project and your needs. Web development in particular benefits more from a UX lead due to the technical/programming knowledge needed to be an advocate for the user. (See an example of requirements for a Senior UX Lead: http://www.authenticjobs.com/jobs/9499/senior-user-experience-engineer-sr-uxe) While a business analyst will also have technical skills, many are focused on the internal processes (workflow for the employees, project management skills expected, etc.) and developing the business model. (See an example of requirements for a Business Analyst: https://jpmchase.taleo.net/careersection/2/jobdetail.ftl?lang=en&job=1089714&src=JB-13027) Take a look at your favorite job search sites. Do the companies who have similar requirements to yours describe a position as a UX or Analyst position?
