Right Triangle Hypotenuse is 5 and horizontal leg is 3 and vertical is x. Find x Pythagorean theorem: a^2+b^2=c^2 where c is the hypotenuse and a and b are the other sides of the right triangle then we know 3^2+x^2=5^2 so x^2= 25-9=16 so x^2=16, x=4 since x has to be greater than 0
