Why light travel in straight line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Light is emitted by a source in a certain direction. As it travels through a medium if nothing interacts with the light then it will continue to move in the same direction a la newtons inertial law (light can be few as particles called photons). Now it it travels from one medium to a different one at a non-perpedicular angle it will change directions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

everything in this universe including light travels in a straight line unless acted upon by some force which tends to change it's state (motion or rest)

light doesn't actually travel in a stright line, it travels in a wave, learn more about wave optics, you will understand, also study electromagnetic waves (light is one) . Light actually bends when it encounters obstacles of the size of its wavelength To prove tthis u can try the Interference experiment
