7. Short Answer. The length of the side of a rectangular desk is given by 3x - 2y cm. The length of the front is given by 3x + 2y cm. What is an algebraic expression for the area of the top of the rectangular desk? Include correct units as part of your answer. Pretty please help me with this question I am lost.... I have so much trouble with word problems and getting them in the right order to even start.... Please help
someone please help me I am trying to take a quiz and do not understand the problem
what i believe they are saying is that the side of the rectangle is 3x-2y and the base or botom side is 3x+2y
A=BH
does that help with how they are trying to convey the problem?
so am i multipling the two equations to find my answer here
I believe so
As I believe you can't solve this equation when there is no data to solve this for x or y. tell me if that works
I have no idea... this is kind of new to me... i was doing great in the class up until now... so i dont know... ive got another word problem also that i dont know how to do
i'm guessing that was it was help. what is the second equation?
or problem
8. Essay: Show all work. A gardener wants to create a rectangular garden with length of 8x - 4y ft. and width of 5x + 9y ft. What is an algebraic expression for the area of the garden? Be sure to multiply this out, express in simplest correct mathematical form, and include units.
i really need help setting it up, and working it out... I am striving to maintain at least a "B" in the class and I have a high "C" right now
This is much like the other question you had me answer. I'm not sure if you got that one right but i'm believing that you'd have to multiply it out like the last one. so (8x-4y)(5x+9y)
Have you done any questions with area in your class?
