"He has been bitten (bit) by the racing bug." Which is correct? bitten or bit?

I'm going to be the odd one here and say that it is "bit". It just sounds better to me, but I am probably wrong.

Bitten is correct but checking verb tables might also be a good idea also to get tense right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"He has been-" is past passive voice, "bitten" will be the passive particle
