Translate to an algebriac inequality... y exceeds x ?

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

y>x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thanks

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

was i right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am not sure I am waiting to see if someone else answers but I think so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Looks right to me

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

was i right?

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

yay!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have 2 more questions if you would like to help

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

yes i would!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

shoot inequalities at me! i am studying them this very second

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use an algebric inequality to solve the problem... One side of a triangle is 2cm shorter than the base,x. The other side is 8cm longer than the base. What lengths of the base will allow the perimeter of the triangle to be atleast 30cm ?

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

woah man i have not studied tht yet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow okay

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

listen i am starting 7th grade sooo ya

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

got anything easier?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lets try this one... A bag of marbles has twice as many blue marbles as green marbles, and the bag has at least 33 marbles in it. At least how many green marbles does it have ?

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

does the bbag only comtain blue and green?

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

if so 22 blue and 11 green

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes only blue and green

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

so 22 blue 11 green

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

am i correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you find that answer ?

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

well i divided that into thirds b/c blue was twice as much... then since 11 times 3 is 33 i said 11 times 2 is 22 so there is my twice as much then 11 is left so 22 blue and 11 green

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sweet Thank you so much for your help and congrats on 7th grade

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

thanks!
