HELP PLEASE ! Choose the system of inequalities that matches the graph below image : http://postimage.org/image/2aa782l50/ A. 4x + y < 9 x - y ≤ 1 B. 4x + y > 9 x - y ≥ 1 9 C. 4x + y ≥ 9 x - y > 1 D. 3x + y ≤ 9 x - y < 1

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Graph of the dotted/dashed line is y = x-1. Get x to the other side to get -x+y = -1 and multiply everything by -1 to get x-y = 1. Now because the shaded region is below the dotted line, we know that y < x-1. This translates into x - y > 1 (using the same steps) So one of the inequalities is x - y > 1. So this means that the answer is choice C We can use the same logic and reasoning to find the other inequality, but that's not needed as no other answer choices have x-y > 1

Thanks .. for B. i made a mistake putting 9 after the 1

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

That's ok, I figured that to be a typo.

Is there another way you can help me instead of on here ?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Not sure how this site works entirely. Is there a direct messaging? If not, then maybe email will work.

I dont think they have that but email would work

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

let me know when you get that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
