Fun Fact #3: Meet my friend the Whirligig Beetle. He lives on the interface between water and air in rivers and lakes. The Whirligig Beetle is a peculiar insect (not just because of its name) as it has two pairs of compound eyes. It has one pair above the surface looking up in the air and has a pair in the water. It can see through both of these pairs of eyes at the same time.
