OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is algebraic expressions???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Expressions with variables (letters representing unknown quantities) as well as numbers (usually).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ax^2 +bx *c is an algebraic expression.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

+c, sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tnx..:))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ur welcome:-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hahaha :))))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

An algebraic expression is made up of the signs and symbols of algebra. These symbols include the Arabic numerals, literal numbers, the signs of operation, and so forth. Such an expression represents one number or one quantity

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u give me some examples..?? :))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

really openstudy is not google. for a general question like this why ask for random opinions. diy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm.. what..??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so,,satellite73 : what's the purpose of open study??.. >:P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pick your favorite search engine. most everyone uses google. type in "algebraic expression" or "what is an algebraic expression" read until you find an answer you like and understand.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so are thinking that i'm the most stupid here..?? >:((

OpenStudy (anonymous):

of course i am just making a suggestion. you can ask here but you are going to get random answers from whomever is on line. i am not saying anything about you personally, i am saying that if you want a good and complete answer find one published, say by wiki. here you are just going to get random answers to such a general and important questions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Jeez, u r touchy.... You have been helped in this thread several times and probably more than u deserve judging by your answers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this for your benefit and piece of mind, not mine

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@estudier i was also not suggesting that there is anything wrong with your answer. it has been my experience though peace, piece, pizza, whatever

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when ever someone posts a question like "what is a rational number" they would be much better off googling than getting a raft of answers, many of which are either wrong or not complete.

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

lol satellite!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's OK, we have also had.. What is set, what is constant and several other whatis's best researched via google or wikipedia, doesn't seem to be going in though...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hhmmpp..>:P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

also feel free to give these guys medals for taking the time to help you out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hey sat d u know how to quickly summarize sep var for pde's, I can do it but it's not really my bag...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am just mentioning it for your benefit, that is all. you will get lots of answers here for sure, but if it were me, i would google general questions and ask specific ones here. what are the zeros of x^2-x+1? instead of what is a polynomial?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what is a polynomial?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i am sorry i know literally nothing about pde's really nothing at all. two big gaps i need to fill (well two out of many) are pde's and the mechanics of linear algebra. pde never seen and linear algebra theory is ok but i forget how to actually do anything

OpenStudy (anonymous):

K, I will plod through it (I'm not really fond of this stuff).

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

so lilyss you get what you want?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok..:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No one mentioned the difference between an expression and an equation. An algebraic equation has an equal sign in it. No "=" in an expression.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

consisting a combination of constants and variables like 2x+3, 5x^2+6x+12 hope u understood
