I have a story problem that i got the answer -2.12 . here is the problem from a base elevation of 9900 ft. a mountain peak in colorado rises to summit elevation of 14,554 ft over a horizontal distance of 15,846 . find the grade peak? was my answer right, if not what would be the correct answer

OpenStudy (amistre64):

gradient is defined as the ratio of: change in height ------------------------ change in horizontal distance

OpenStudy (amistre64):

last - first = change in height 14554 - 9900 ------------- = gradient, simplify as wanted 15,846

so the answer to this would be 3.404 is that right?

OpenStudy (amistre64):
